The rains that kept the work crew away from Stankowski Field for a few days have had little effect on progress. Recent work completed includes inlaying the field marking, completing the Stacked MU Logo Inlay and applying the sand and Ecofill infill product. As of Friday July 3rd, grooming of the field has begun.
After closer inspection, it was determined that the fencing located
between the track and the playing fields is in need of replacement. That work will be completed as a second phase of this project with preparation for the work to be completed underway. A walk-through of the fields to determine the volume of work yet to be completed and the fields preparedness for play is scheduled for the coming week. 
The 1.5 million dollar project is proudly and fully funded by the Student Recreation Activity Fee through a strategic fiscal plan developed and established in 1998 to address Stankowski turf replacement.
